I have a coin with strange deep indents on the nose. Are there any known nose errors? I'd post a picture, but the rules say not to post pictures of screens. I have it under a scope.

K, I can't post a picture of my scope screen, correct? That's all I can do at the moment until I get an SD card for it...

@Elvira, scope screen pics are almost always so poor that we generally just lock threads that try to use them. If you want, post your absolute best ones to this thread and we will see how it goes. Thx.

That's correct. Do you have any other camera equipment, besides a scope?

As a general rule, "strange deep indents" are almost always damage, rather than errors or varieties.

It's damage ( PMD), on the nose.

These are not errors, just PMD.

In this case it appears to be damage ( PMD) rather than something like a strikethrough. Strike through errors you can read about here. https://www.pcgs.com/news/the-two-t...-error-coins

With the high volume of coin production for circulation coins and the process, you can certainly see many areas where coins contact each other and then dropped into the giant bags. Even after bagging into mint sewn bags they will also be transported and beyond which gives them further opportunity to potentially have contact marks or damage rather than during the production. Then imagine all it goes through in circulation!

Heres a bit more on damaged coins vs error coins https://coins.thefuntimesguide.com/pmd/

I'm thinking post-strike damage.
