2020-P Jefferson Nickel, New Line-In-Door Doubled Die Reverse / DDR .

Brandmeister Pillar of the Community United States 6548 Posts	Posted 06/07/2024 5:21 pm This appears to be a previously unknown 2020-P nickel DDR. The doubling appears in the middle third underneath the lintel. Although the doubling is quite similar to 2020-P 5c WDDR-004, they cannot be the same die (IMHO). The WDDR-004 has a beehive forming on the left building wall. My nickel has no forming die crack, but it does have a solid die gouge under the A of America. The gouge does not appear on the WDDR-004 entry. Therefore, neither can be an earlier die state of the other. The DDR doesn't seem to match the length or position of any other 2020-P DDR. You going to send it in? I have a method for that. I run across quite a few door doubles that aren't in the Wexler listings. I set aside the strongest examples in a Ziplock. Brian will examine three nickels at a time, so whenever I get up to 3+, I will submit another trio. The strongest three will go. This one is decent, but it might be a while before it makes the trip.
