Can Anyone Help Me Identify This 194x Penny And Possible Error Worth Grading?

I'm very new at coin collecting and very excited to dig in to my thousands of coins finally! Is this 1941 or maybe 1944? Is it something worth grading? I appreciate your help! Appears to be damage on the last digit of the date--likely caused by an old-school mechanical vending machine. I've come across dozens of these over several decades of cent roll searching. In my opinion, this example would be a poor candidate for grading submission. Gotta ask. What does the reverse look like? Report this Post to the Staff
