I am not sure what I'm looking at as far as error but I would appreciate any feedback from anyone else. I'm very new at coin collecting and very excited to dig in to my thousands of coins finally! Is this 1941 or maybe 1944? Is it something worth grading? I appreciate your help!

Just damage from some coin-operated vending machine. Date is 1941.

Agree. Appears to be damage on the last digit of the date--likely caused by an old-school mechanical vending machine. I've come across dozens of these over several decades of cent roll searching. In my opinion, this example would be a poor candidate for grading submission.

Gotta ask. What does the reverse look like?

To CCF! I agree with the above comments. It's PMD. Not worth grading, as it's not an error. It's not worth very much.

Thank you everyone for your feedback. Still a really cool find for me! I've never seen anything like it. I look forward to more exciting finds. For whoever wants to see the reverse:

(Thanks again!)

to the CCF and Mechanical damage. One other thing, there are no minor error coins that are worth slabbing. It takes a coin that is worth north of $50.00 to even be considered.
