25th Anniversary Sacagawea 2025 Golden Dollar 24k One Half-Ounce Gold Proof Coin Available July 31
2025, July 31
US Mint - In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Sacagawea Golden Dollar, the United States Mint (Mint) is proud to offer a 24-karat one-half-ounce gold proof coin featuring the original Sacagawea Golden Dollar design. The Mint first issued the Sacagawea Golden Dollar from 2000 to 2008, before transitioning to the Native American $1 Coin Program in 2009. The original coin was notable as the first U.S. dollar coin made with an outer layer of manganese brass, giving it a distinctive golden color. The 25th Anniversary Sacagawea Golden Dollar 24K One-Half-Ounce Gold Proof Coin will be available beginning July 31 at noon ET. Check out 25th Anniversary Sacagawea 2025 Gold Dollars on ebay. The obverse (heads) design, first introduced in 2000, retains the central figure of Sacagawea in a three-quarter profile, carrying her infant son, Jean Baptiste, on her back. Inscriptions include "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and "2025." Glenna Goodacre, the artist of the obverse, included the large, dark eyes attributed to Sacagawea in Shoshone legends. Randy'L He-dow Teton was Goodacre's model. The reverse (tails) design, used between 2000-2008, features a soaring eagle encircled by 17 stars, which represent each state in the Union at the time of the 1804 Lewis and Clark expedition. Inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," and "ONE DOLLAR." Former Mint Medallic Artist Thomas D. Rogers created the original reverse design. Each coin is encapsulated and showcased in a striking black clamshell case, accented with a sleek finish, and adorned with a brilliant gold foil image of Sacagawea. The case proudly bears the inscription "25th Anniversary Sacagawea Golden Dollar" and includes a Certificate of Authenticity. As with all Mint products containing precious metal, this coin will be priced according to the range in which it appears on the Pricing of Numismatic Gold, Commemorative Gold, Platinum, and Palladium Products table. Would love one if I could afford one. A silver version would be nice, but I understand why that is not an option.

If only someone could capture a gold-laden asteroid and crash the market price.

Sacagawea gold coin is due out in a little more than a day from now. Anyone got a guess on how much the issue price will be, and when shipping will begin? I say $2,700 similar to the Superman coin and shipping for Aug. 15th. If gold plummets they will probably issue a refund for the difference. (Yeah, right.)

Pricing was already announced, lower than Superman. https://www.coinnews.net/2025/07/10...ng-unveiled/Quote: If gold remains in the current $3,300.00 to $3,349.99 range at launch - the tier currently used for other half-ounce collector coins - the Sacagawea gold coin would debut at $2,175.

In for one. I look at this coin same way as the Kennedy gold coin. I passed on that one but will not on this one.

I could not justify the expense then, but dang, if I had a time machine or a way to send a message back to my 2014 self.

The price is on the mint site now. As predicted and reported, $2175. I am going to try for one. May keep it, may flip it. I can see what the market is like and won't get too attached to it. But if the resale isn't where I'd like to see it, I wouldn't mind holding it, it's pretty cool, and I have never really been attracted to the Sac. I have a few as part of sets with ASEs in them.

I guess I am passing on this one as well. With the price of gold being so high, it makes it difficult to get into gold now. Especially with those Premiums being INSANE for this.

I got one. There wasn't even a wait room nor the crash I was expecting without the wait room. So maybe the site is fixed, or there really isn't that great of a demand. Again if the flipping profit isn't there right now, I will gladly hold it. That's why I took the chance.

I was able to get one as well. There was no wait room or issues with the website.
