I got this 1939 P Jefferson nickel this week in my bank roll and when I saw the condition I thought it was really something. The Obverse fields are clean except for a small mark behind Jefferson's hair and circulation hits. The Reverse showing Monticello is relatively clean except no full steps, but nice for a coin this old. Look at the pics and let me know your thoughts on this remarkable coin. Regards all!

Dark spot at 6 o'clock reverse, right on the second E. Grayish stains on Jefferson's profile, and some kind of odd formation just behind the head. It might not grade straight.

looks like some light wear on the high points of the cheek, collar, jacket and few areas on the memorial and in field under the motto. there are more marks here than you are seeing. the one behind the head looks like a typical staple scratch. multiple marks on the face and columns.

the scratch behind the head in the field has a really good chance to details the coin

on the plus side this is an unbelievable find for a 39 coin in circulation.

AU58 details (scratched) I think its too deep to pass
