This coin almost has a date, but the die just missed hitting the planchet with that all-important last digit. I like that the coin is struck off-center but IS centered side to side. It gives the coin a look as if it were almost designed like this. It displays some split plating from the copper being stretched beyond it's limits, but not too much. I estimate the strike to be about 35% shifted to the K-6 position of the planchet I hope no one minds that I'm posting so many like-error coins, but as the board seems a little slow right now, I thought I'd at least try to keep the Error category a more active. ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

I've not found an off-center in the wild as of yet, so I appreciate your postings! This one a 2000-2009. I may need to visit ebay and buy one.

Yoko, I blew up your pic and it would appear to be a 2000 obverse. It only ran the one year, with the "chicken lips", that they are sometimes referred to as. You will be able to check it out more closely, with the coin in hand but look at the link I have provided and see if the neck and lips match the ODV-040 (enhanced lower beard and lower lip). If so, you now know the date. LINK http://varietyvista.com/09d%20WQ%20...arieties.htm

nice find, But is it a WAM or CAM - the FG looks close to the memorial (maybe I'm wrong) which could maybe make it a WAM cent.. Can you post up a close up of the FG?

You do see the serifs on the G right and FG close to the Memorial base? WAM if a 2000?

Marve, the second I figured it could possibly be a 2000, that was the second thing I checked. I cannot tell for sure with what we have to work with. We need conformation, with closeups of the obverse areas in question and then the same for the reverse areas in question. Here is your pic, along with a blown up of the OP's, I cannot tell but am leaning towards a normal reverse. You need to keep in mind that the error has distorted the devices somewhat too. We will wait and see if Yoko can give us all the closeups we need.
