I believe this is a pretty good example of a grease-filled die. Under ordinary lighting, the missing letters are barely visible. Blasting them in the light box allows them to be seen.

Yep I agree with your assessment, although I do note that sometimes weakness in strike is due to incomplete die filling when the metal has a larger area (like a bust) to flow into on the other side of the coin.

The mass is 5.05g, so right on the nose. Insufficient metal would produce a more gradual gradient to the missing features, no? The grease-filled die seems more likely to create missing features right next to fully formed devices.
