Pass - The coin has rim damage and the rim damage would detail the coin.

Quote:Do you know anywhere I can get a nice Capped Bust half dollar, other than ebay? Are you looking for a type coin? If you are looking for a raw coin, ebay has the largest selection. If you are willing to purchase an example in a TPG holder, then, GC, Stacks, and Heritage are options. The Bust Half Dollars are not hard to find. What is hard to find is a problem free Bust Half Dollar with original skin and eye appeal at a fair price. What is your budget? CCF member @jacrispies is very knowledgeable about the series has a good eye for quality examples as demonstrated in some of his coins that I have seen in his collection. If he give you a thumbs up on an example, you will have a winner.

Thank you for the help. Slider23, as far as my budget goes, I'd like to spend 100 dollars on a nice raw example. I don't know if I can get a nice problem free one for that price. I might just buy a different denomination, since I have a limited budget.

The link below is a 1834 Bust Half NGC VF25 for sale $126 on ebay that is a lot better value than the raw one you were looking at. 145705844904Most of the raw ebay bust half examples for sale in the $100 range are problem coins. It is possible to find a nice bust half example in your budget range. Can you find one in your budget range that checks the three boxes of problem free, original skin with eye appeal? Properly not.

You can get a decent problem-free VF example for $100 or under. Since there are many examples available on the market, it takes a little bit of patience but you can score some awesome deals. ebay has been dry on good material lately, but the good stuff comes in waves. Wish I had a few extra VFs around or else I'd sell you a choice one! I took a quick look on ebay and found this one that ends in 6 hours: https://www.ebay.com/itm/256552960588Price is $76 now but worth keeping an eye on since it is choice XF.

Take your time. I'd hold on the 1828 and try for the 1830. There will always be another one if you don't score one of these.
