I don't come here looking for opinions with the easy one's. Found this 1974 D recently. It is a high AU that was well struck with a reasonably new die. There are no DDO's with doubled ears listed on Wex, CC or VV.

Doesn't look like MD the edges are smooth and curved, no shelving. Also, doesn't look like a hit. The bottom of the doubled ear lobe tapers and folds under the ear lobe in the close ups.

For comparison purposes the last image is one of the similar doubled ears on several several State Quarters.

Interesting coin. Let me know what you think.

Thanks. NYI

I think Tanner Scott should take a look at this one.

That will be a very cool find if you get it listed! Good luck! It's always nice to see an older year produce a new doubled die.

Hard to tell for certain with the sharp angle that the closeups are taken from. I'm not confident saying either DD or something else.

This one should go to Dan Griffin once we reopen submissions if you're interested in trying to get this one listed.

Just my opinion here but it doesn't look like true doubling to me. I'm not sure what it is but it does remind me of something I would see on a zinc core cent though I know it is not.

Yes, I'd submit for verification at the earliest convenience

Attached is a close up at 90 degrees.
