Guys I am unable to find any coin with the similar size on the date. I have included a picture of the normal quarter.

Aye, looks normal. That black crud on the subject coin may be creating an optical illusion...perhaps.

No Small or Large date designation is attributed to the 1988-P quarter.

It's normal with environmental damage. There's no such thing as Small or Large dates, for the 1988 quarters.

Hi Bill. I'm going to take a different approach and say that the coin almost appears to be fake. Several of the facial features appear different than the other example. The ear looks wider, his throat looks deeper, his jaw bone doesn't go all the way back to the ear lobe. The bottom of his ponytail looks different and doesn't extend past his neck. His earlobe isn't full and the hair in front of it doesn't curve up.
I don't know about this one, it just looks fake to me. I could be wrong. ErrorsRCool.
