I came upon this ebay auction for a "1973 Bank of Canada $1 One Dollar Note Ottawa Vintage RARE Currency" https://www.ebay.com/itm/225741369618. What floored me is the price this crook was asking, an the condition of the bill (looks like it was stuffed in my jeans pocked for the past 40 years). I've seen a whole spat of these listings lately. Do these sellers really think they're going to get what they ask? Or are they subscribing to the P.T. Barnum school of advertising? BTW, I offered the seller $1.50 including FREE SHIPPING, which I consider a fair offer for this item. He didn't bite

Adding a pic of the bill in question so that folks can learn from this thread after the auction comes down.

At least its a nice round number $1805 USD Perhaps the seller has been unduly influenced by social media where terms like "rare, scarce & one of a kind" get bounced around a lot & eventually lose their meaning. I had to look at their other items for a good chuckle (3 X 1 Peso JIM for $50, 10 Pesos JIM for $398 & a few circulated Mexican 100 Pesos notes for $150 & $125) all heavily circulated. I doubt we'll see anything fly off the wall. YIKES: here's the description: Quote: You will receive one 1973 Canada $1 banknote uncirculated in good condition.
The images displayed is of the exact $1 banknote you will receive. We can check back in a few decades to see if anything sold.

This one violates ebay's maximum price for "raw" currency. It will be removed soon.
