Hi, yes because the B and E do not connect to each other. I'll see what others may say. Thanks, Frank.

There are 2 schools of thought on this BIE mess 1. if there is a chip anywhere near the I or B - they call it a BIE and 2. If the I and B are connected - then it is a True BIE. <---- I'm in this school So, for me, No this is not a BIE just a die chip under the B.

I do not know much about BIE's but I am familiar with die progression and these would not appear to be from the same die. The earlier stage you are showing is further east on the B than the later stage, that cannot be. Give us a date/mm shot of each, if you would.

Extremely similar mm locations but as I stated, they cannot be from the same die.

Once again, different dies. As for the Recurring die subsidence error, I think that was on a working hub, as many as there are out there.

Hi, the question is can it be called a BIE. I got the answer. James Wiles has the set and is happy with it. I will trust his option on this matter. Thanks. Frank B.

I don't think you are getting it, Frank. They cannot be from the same die. One last side by side and I'll leave your BIE alone. You cannot have the chip further east on the earlier die stage than the later die stage and that is what is going on here. Just trying to help you. And what you have on the reverse is not a clash.

I'm not sure but being on a BU coin would probably help. There are a lot of these out there, as stated in the link I gave you from Error Ref, there are several dies.
