I picked this up recently. It's crazy what people pay for them and if it grades a 65 it will be tied for top pop!

Very cool! So is one die worth more than the other?

I will say about 850 dollars but Willburton knows more than I so hopefully he will answer. I do know that no other D of that type is found on any other U. S. coin.

There are obviously two known dies for this variety. I was just curious if one is worth more or more scarce than the other. Check out the link he left and click on the upper right hand area that says die 2, it will go back and forth between dies. They have different mm locations.

Thanks everyone. I have been wondering about the two dies as well. For as scarce as these are there couldn't have been many struck from either die.

Finally getting this one back. It went MS64, Which was a little bit of a let down. All I needed for a top pop was a 65. https://www.pcgs.com/cert/51022910

I don't do grading estimates, but seems like yours could'a gone one grade higher?
Still a nice piece!

Congrats Will on the find but disappointing it didn't tie for top pop.
