I am having difficulty deciding whether to send a KHD coin in for grading and attribution. The coin I have is a 1967 Kennedy half that weighs 11.3 g.

The attached excerpt from CoinFacts shows that it should weigh 11.5 g.
Could this coin weighing 11.3 g even possibly have silver in it?

If it does turn out that this coin has no silver per x-ray fluoroscopy testing, what type of value would a coin of this nature bring in almost uncirculated condition, based upon historical data?

Agree--appears to be on the lower end of the tolerance threshold. Would be fun to see full, large and sharp pics of the obverse and reverse. There might be visual clues as to why the weight is what it s. Thanks.

Well the weight is within specs, I cannot tell if it has silver in it from here with out any images posted of it.
Giving a value on a coin 'sight-unseen' is next to impossible.
What condition is it in?
it is damaged, sanded, or excessively worn? It is probably a rolled thin planchet..
Please post up a picture on it.

Doesn't sound like a big deal.

We will gladly help you, but we will need images first. We are locking this topic to prevent posts with "We need images". You will get many more quality responses when there are quality images in the first post of a topic. Please start a new topic when you are able to upload pictures. If needed you can use the testing forum. Tutorials are below.

Note: When you start a new topic this one may be removed. So don't panic if you get an email that your topic was removed it's only this one.

PC: We highly recommend IrfanView. (Download) (Irfanview Tutorial)

Apple Computers: Tutorial here: http://goccf.com/t/466343

Cell Phones (iPhone or Android): First, do not upload cell phone pictures of screens. They are terrible. Please check your camera settings are set to Medium quality. If it uses compression use 70%, it's perfectly fine for the internet. For file type please use WEBP if your phone has it, otherwise JPG. Avoid PNG and GIF, they are horrible choices. Be sure to crop the image to only show the coin. This is a great setup for cell phones.
