@alon, good question--the principles of minting coins are largely the same, regardless of the denomination. Anything linear and incuse on a circulated coin is likely to be a scratch. Anything linear and in relief may be from a die crack.

Scratches, dents, bag marks, etc. The large size of the Ike make it an easy target for damage.

However, it is still an Ike. That is its own reward!
