I know the 1969-S Lincoln Memorial cent does have a DDO but I'm not finding this version I have. I'm only seeing doubling on the date, MM and LIBERTY, last three letters (RTY). Not sure if it's DDO I'm seeing or Machine Doubling.

Sorry for the bad pictures as I don't have a digital magnifier.

Yep, it's Machine Doubling. That date seems to be very common to have Machine Doubling.

It is hard to say. Many different types of doubling. The letters look full but I'm also looking to see like on the corners of the doubling is not just coming straight off but also makes a knuck where it comes down also.
I would keep in investigating that coin.

Chris1974,
Your coin is MD not a doubled die.

Yes, Machine Doubling. And yes, the '69 S is known for some rather strong examples of Machine Doubling. I've seen many, many pieces over decades of roll searching. Suggest keeping this one for reference purposes.

with the Machine Doubling diagnosis.

One thing that has helped me over the years is on coins minted prior to 1990, if the Mint Mark shows doubling in the same direction as the date, then in all likelihood, it's an example of Strike Doubling or Die Deterioration Doubling. Before 1990 the Mint Mark was added to the Master Die after it had been completed. After 1990 the MM was put into place while the master was being engraved.

Thanks for the diagnosis. This is Machine Doubling and I'll keep the coin as reference.
