Ridge Ring from Die Deterioration. Not a Doubled Die. You have to match the doubling first, then the die markers. Die markers mean nothing if you don't have the Doubled Die.
Errers and Varietys.

This is what I thought it was. Really having a hard time with DDO'S. Maybe someone can explain it so I can understand it better, thanks.

Thanks for posting the link. In my opinion this is a tough DDO to see even from the Variety Vista photos.
"Description: Strong spread on IN GOD WE TRUST and date with near total separation on the tail of the 9 and the U of TRUST."
The most prominent feature I see on the VV photos is the tail of the "9" & U in trust. Compare yours with those parts, and I think
you'll see it's not a match. The "U" has a fat lower section and the "9" also gets fat on the tail with noted separation.

Is it like these 9's where the tails are skinny and no separation?

Image from VV, note at the very end of the "9" tail it shows what's called a split serif,
that is linked to the separation on the tail.
That's one good way to spot Doubled Dies. The more you look at DDO's/DDR's the better
you get at identifying them.
