I have a 1917s type 1 SLQ that I would appreciate your expert opinions on. I'm interested in your opinions of grade, whether it's been cleaned, estimated value, confirmation that it is a full head, and if it's worth getting slabbed. Thanks so much.

Type I Standing Liberty quarters earn the FH designation when there is a clear and distinct separation between Miss Liberty's hair cords and her cap. this one looks like it can make it.

not sure if its the photo or lighting regarding some light green areas. if you pull the trigger i'd acetone it just to be certain but in any case ii don't think its sufficient to details the coins

this one is either a slider at AU58 or lower MS. maybe 61. I'm leaning to the AU side. lighting is throwing quite a but of glare. like I can't tell how bad all those marks are on the rims on both sides. keep in mind that FH only applied to MS coins

That sums it up well. Certainly not less than AU-58+.

I compared the coin to a State Quarter I happened to have and the shine was comparable. I would say the cart wheeling was not as prominent if evident at all (I'm no expert on that). I purchased it from an individual. Any opinions on its value?

Whatever the exact grade, it deserves a TPG submission I think. After that, the valuation will be easy.

I'd say AU-55. Quite a few little nicks on the rims on both sides. I would definitely soak it in acetone in case that green film on the obverse is PVC residue.

AU-53, too many ticks on the obverse for higher. Definitely needs an acetone bath.

I examined the coin carefully and never noticed any green residue on the coin. When I actually looked at the pics I posted I saw the green that you guys were talking about. Turns out that was an artifact of holding my camera above the coin with mountain dew cans (green) and then reducing the resolution of the pics to 300k that magnified the green reflection of the cans off the coin so it was blatantly visible. I've attached another Pic with no cans holding the camera so no green is in it. It also shows the crossing lines on top of the inner shield that weren't visible in the previous Pic and are one of the first details worn off.
Also, I'm confused about the statement that there are too many nicks on the coin to warrant a grade better than AU53. From what I've read, the grade is determined by wear, not nicks, and the nicks only come into play to determine the MS grade if you have an uncirculated coin.
Of course too many nicks can details a coin but can't determine if the grade is AU53 vs AU55 or AU58. Please correct me if I'm mistaken. Thanks.

That is a much, much better photo. Do whatever you did to take that pic on every coin pic from now on
