stumbled upon this coin and I had originally listed it on ebay at about 700 bucks, but I was messaged by somebody who seemed very knowledgeable in the coin industry and stated that uh, I should definitely send this coin in for grading... said he saw one that was in much worse condition, sell on pcgs for around twelve thousand so I'm wondering, if anybody has any insights, advice or opinions as far as to the grade or the value of this coin? And if sending it off to be graded, would be worthwhile or not. any input and help would be very much appreciated, thank you, -Krystal

What a nice looking Barber coin Put me in at a comfortable EF-45, and retails about $300ish but a buying price would be more like $150-175 or so. Yes, this is a nice enough coin to send in to be graded if you please, and we would recommend PCGS, NGC, or ANACS.

Definitely Not a $12,000 coin.

$12,000? I'd be asking if he want's to buy it, ASAP! Nice looking coin - high EF but being raw it will probably sell for around $200 (give or take )

To CCF! I'll grade it at EF. I would get it slabbed, if you really want to.
Errers and Varietys.

Solid mid-to-high AU sharpness - look at that hair above the forehead. Old cleaning in right obverse field. to the CCF!

Definitely has AU sharpness, but the dark toning and absence of luster may drop it to XF-45. Attractive coin regardless. Not sure where $12,000 came from.

to the Community! The neck of Ms Liberty looks kinda "rough" or damaged. Also some nicks and digs in front of her face. Other than that maybe XF. I don't think this coin is a candidate for any conservation efforts and I would just leave it alone. It may not even straight grade.

Looking at this one again. The lack of luster is definitely concerning compared to the sharpness. Not sure what happened there, but the coin has AU sharpness and no perceived luster from the pictures.

AU details, environmental damage. There are some dark surface spots that most likely have eaten into the surface.
