To CCF! It's a normal damaged quarter with circulation wear, scrapes, and a stain. Not an error and only worth 25 cents.

Post-strike damage, with what appears to be 'thick' staining. For fun, try removing or reducing the stain with a soak in 100% acetone.

What does the reverse look like?

@chad, first welcome to CCF. Second, yes that discoloration is surface staining--maybe this quarter spent some time in the bottom of a cup holder recently?

Looks like something on the surface like glue - don't waste time with acetone just spend it.
