MR. OGP checking in again!
Just got my 2024S in the mail and the hits just keep on coming on the OGP front.
The small indent they make to help you get the capsule out of the box moved!
It was in the lower right, maybe about the 4 O'Clock position, now it's upper right, about the 2 O'clock.
Went they works be the same from W to S mint is beyond me. Weird.
As far as the coin, I still don't think the detail is there like it should be, like the details are washed out.

Very interesting. It would be an understandable event if the insert was square, easy to rotate then.

Gilly,

I wanted to read your Post, Then Check out My San Francisco's 2024 PROOF ASE's, I Did.

I Pulled out My 2024 UNC's and Compared Details, The UNC has Less Fine details, as Does Your Posted Proof Example, Although Your Photos are Very Distant and Could Be Better.

For Some Reason the Details are Almost Like that of a Very Worn Die, No Impact to the Vision, No Depth, Not Deep Struck Looking , Is This The " modern design technology, We Now-A-Days see?

Laser Infusion Technology, With a Very High Price Tag......

Has Anyone Else Pulled Out Any other Earlier Minted Eagles and Compared Them for Yourself,

The Interesting Point Here is The Collector Base Should Be More Concerned with Details, Fine Details On The ASE's, Instead We Expressed a Concern about " The Clam Shell Holders", Although they Accommodated That request, Our Collectibles are Losing Their " Depth " in Details, BUT We Now have A " better " Holder, ?.!!!!!!!!

Gilly, Keep On With Your Observations, My Fellow Coin Collecting Friend

You are right. Even for just posting the change in OGP, the pictures could have been better.
I agree, the last few years the device or design of the ASEs especially, have looked weak or washed out. I think you're right, it is the change in the die making process. And they bragged about it! How much better is supposed to look. I'm not sure, but I think it just replaced a bunch of people who took pride in their work.
I posted about buying that magnifier at the Chicago show last week, maybe I'll get some comparison pictures between some older ASE proofs and one of these from this year.
