This dime really stood out to me. It has a higher than normal rim, More detailed image and has more of mirror like finish then other dimes I've been looking at. I googled a 2015 D Proof dime but could not find anything. I though Proof were usually had a "S" mint mark. Is this just a really nice detailed dime or could it be a proof. I added pictures of it by another nice condition 2015 for comparison. Any help is appreciated.

Can't be a proof, just a business strike.

A business strike dime struck with a newer pair of dies and maybe a bit too much pressure.

After a little more research, I saw that there are "Proof Like" coins. Could this be considered one? If so, do they command a higher value?

Agree with John1. Over many, many, many years of roll searching I've come across large numbers of freshly minted dimes. When dies are fresh and pieces are newly minted, they can be quite brilliant--particularly those from the Denver mint. Not uncommon.

Notice how the shinyness is kind of sparkly? Those are crystals of metal on the surface of the coin. The way proof coins are struck you almost never see the crystals of metal without a high power microscope.

Your coin is not proof like.To be PL it needs a bit of cameo showing.

I agree. Denver seems to do a good job with their coins.

Please repost picture. Only this time compare it to a known proof coin. Can't compare two circulation coins and decide the one with more shine must be a proof

You will find a lot of coins from Denver that are very shiny.

Some examples are the quarters, you can confuse them with the W quarters, you might mistake it until you look at the front and realize it's from Denver.

I always thought that the coins fields just need to be reflective - no cameo needed. Of course in Morgans most PLs have cameo devices but not on modern coins.

"PCGS has a set standard for designating a given coin as Prooflike, or "PL." These grading standards are the following:

There must be a clear reflection in the fields on both sides of the coin as viewed from two to four inches away.
Cloudiness or striations may impede the reflectivity on eligible Prooflike coins.
Historically the PL designation was awarded only to qualifying Morgan dollars. However as of July 1, 2019, PCGS began bestowing the PL designation to all qualifying Mint State United States and world coins, medals, and tokens regardless of type."
