Hi all
Just wondering if anyone could help me out with this 1912 Penny coin coin as I'm a newbie here and any help would be appreciated.
As you can see the coin is in average condition as its pretty worn and may have a little bit cancer especially around the date area.
But I i recently bought Renniks Australian Pre-Decimal Coin Varieties and looked up 1912 Penny and from what I can tell has some off same things listed but when I go to look on the net for more info on this coin there's nothing to be found so I can very this coin is the same as whats mentioned in the book
1. Missing mintmark
2.Secound figure 1 in date is thin
3.Dot after the L in Austrtalia
4.CUD on kings chin

\im also basically trying to work out that if it is the same then is it worth anything and if so how to work out how much as whilst I want to sell it I don't want to sell it for peanuts either especially if worth alot more...i reckon everyone's the same when it comes to this...
So my other question is how to work out the rarity of this coin
as once again extraordinarily little if nothing is mentioned on the net..

Any assistance with this will be greatly appreciated

Not worth much,A$1 or 2,in that condition.
Although over a 100 years old they have to be Unc. to have any value.
Sorry.

I do agree with what your saying Basil as 1912 UNC would be the ultimate coin value wise. and at the other end off the scale a normal coin like mine would have been graded as $1 to $2 as to be expected.

But what I'm trying to figure out is (to be honest the pictures are inferior quality my apologies) that this 1912 Penny has a variety of errors whom which have been listed in Renniks Australian Pre-Decimal Coin Varieties to be:
1. Missing mintmark (Scarce) R5
2.Secound figure 1 in date is thin (V Scarce) R6
3.Dot after the L in Austrtalia (V Scarce) R6
4.CUD below kings chin (Rare) R7
Some other information regarding these variety coins as ive searched the net and can't find anything telling me whether to keep them or sell them or anything. So, any help with this would be appreciated and ill try to upload a better-quality picture showing these errors soon, Thanks

Unfortunately the varieties you mentioned would not add much value to this coin, as it is basically a junk coin. The pics are too blurry to see the varieties, but it is good to see you taking an interest in varieties. Don't get discouraged, it takes a long time to build a knowledge base.

Don't see much promise here so far.
