I think the reverse holds this to F-15. Agree old cleaning, not really a fan.

I think this one falls short relative to the other Barber halves that you've posted in your Barber halves Album Journey thread.

Letters evenly plain, I'll give it a VF.

Obverse might go VF-20, but I don't think the reverse makes it.

Definitely cleaned. Not the worst I've seen but the surfaces look extremely unnatural relative to the grade.

I'm not surprised it made it into a straight grade holder. TPG's have been giving mid grade Barber coins a "pass" for a few years now because there is intense market demand for VF-XF Barber coinage and therefore a lot of market pressure from larger submitters (e.g. big dealers) to get these coins into straight grade holders.

Makes VF20, barely.

I agree with an old cleaning. Still a nice coin IMO. So many of these are worn down badly.

Thanks all! Appreciate all the input so far. When I got this one in hand, I saw the old cleaning right away. It isn't the worst, but still not what I am going for. The sellers photos hid the old cleaning pretty well. Going to be returning this one. This isn't a GTG, but NGC gave it a F-15.

Old cleaning without a doubt, deemed market acceptable by TPG.
