Poll Question
Scattered around on one thread or another, many of us have mentioned how excited we are by this new Lincoln Cent. Whether it is locating bank rolls.......waiting for business strikes to show up in yer' pocket change.....the lucky few who landed the "two roll Sets" (me ).....Those who attend the Lincoln ceremony events and get their rolls stamped by the Post Office.......waiting for the Special Lincoln Sets to come out......Uncirculated Sets......Proof Sets.......Silver Proof Sets. Admittedly, the " Lincoln Cent Craze" is quite impressive and surprising. To have some or all of this in one thread (probably will never happen ! ), I thought I'd have this poll for everyone to list how many Sets you intend to order. Whether it be Uncirc. for the SF, Proof, or Silver Proof. But explain whether or not it's because of this new Cent in 95% Copper with the three different Sets, or if it's what you normally do anyway, etc. Or if it's because you intend to try to make money on ebay or whatever. If so, what would you keep for your own collection ? Also discuss "your attempts" at accumulating BU rolls and your own "fever" with these. How many will be "cracking" their Sets to get the Proof Lincolns to put into albums ? Mention how many Sets exactly you intend to acquire and explain why....

You need more choices! Thanks! For me, it will probably be at least one of each: proof set, silver proof set, and the special set. I might add an uncirculated set this year, just because it is going to be so huge!

Similar to a poll a short while back and you guys keep leaving out my choice.
X - NONE
I cannot bring myself to pay a premium for current coins.

Jim1953.....Sorry Jim...... I didn't figure "non-interested" folks would read any further than the first few lines ! And now I have no more room for your "ZERO" answer ! .....

Quote: Hope I got that fixed BEFORE you cast your vote ! . You did, but since I might get a mint set this year, I chose one of each set offered instead of 1 Proof, 1 Silver Proof, & 1 Special Lincoln Set.

Every year I get 5 Mint sets 1 to open for each of my Danscos Normally I get 3 each of the proofs but this year I will get 5 of each because of the copper pennies Normally each year I locate 1 roll of P&D Cents This year I ordered 10 sets of rolls from the mint and will continue for each design. I also plan to order 3 special sets All my coins are being left to my great grandchildren I do believe all 2009 Items will increase in value with the exception of some of the foolish prices being paid on ebay.

2 each of the clad proof and mint sets, 3 of the silver proof sets. I've been on this subscription set-up for a few years and this seems to be plenty for me. Have picked up 7 boxes of Philly mint 09 cents. Our local bank here in the Florida Panhandle as received more 09 Lincolns than I've heard of so far. Plan is to keep most of the boxes and send my friends (Eagle) and family uncircumcised rolls for their children and grandchildren.

I hope to end up with an uncirculated P & D set of all four 2009 reverses, which adds up to 8 coins. I won't buy them. But I will trade. So far my Father-in-law got lucky with two rolls of P Lincoln Logs of which he gave me one roll. I have been gifted 6 singles either by somebody being nice or by winning a contest. 3 are P's and 3 are D's but I gave a D to my Father-in-Law so I have 55 Lincoln Logs of which 2 are D's the rest P's. I figure I will maybe be able to make a set without paying anything.
This will be an interesting set to try and complete if you want one of every kind. Isn't there going to be satin finish in mint cents as well? Then there might be copper proofs? Are there zinc proofs too? And of course, I will bet my bottom dollar that somehow there will be a famous error comes from this series that will be very valuable and the key to it all.
I have maybe 50 or 100 Lincoln cents since 1909 that I plan to hang onto all the way to my last days. I don't care for them as much as many others do. I lost interest in them when they went zinc in 1982. They remind me of tiddly winks.

I buy 3 sets every year of the silver proof's but this year I will also purchase an uncirculated set as well to get the 4 lincoln's in ms uncirculated/p&d 95%copper plus I will try and find as many obw rolls as possible of each type to sell and I dont crack any of my silver mint sets unless I think I can send it in to the TPG for a 70 grade

Spell check can be dangerous if you run on auto-pilot! I have ended up with some very "out of context" words in the past.
