Interesting - I was thinking someone may have put a socket over the coin and hit it for some reason but then the bottom bust of Jefferson would have been effected, but isn't. Brandmeister Pillar of the Community United States 6501 Posts	Posted 08/25/2024 11:54 pm One thing to consider is that coins with bad Die Deterioration have a lot of excess metal in the devices. As circulation flattening takes place (including scraping and stretching from coin rolling machines), that can really smear the devices wide. It's not hard to imagine that with some crushing action, these letters could be even bigger and chunkier than they already are. Report this Post to the Staff
