Found a silver 1955 no mint mark Wheat penny. Stuck a strong magnet to it to see if it was steel it does have a little but not very much. Is this a common Wheat penny? Thanks for your help

What does the front look like? From the single photo posted, it appears the coin was plated. ' no mint mark' means the coin was minted in Philadelphia.

Among other things, it appears the obverse has some Die Deterioration going on--note the minor 'bulge-like' feature coming off the last 5 in 1955. If that is a distinct bulge, this would be known as a 'poor man's doubled die'. No added value, just an interesting, informal designation.

Probably plated, guessing just a spender.

If it's sticking to a magnet, but only weakly, then it is probably a normal bronze 1955 penny that has been plated with nickel. A very thin layer of nickel will be weakly attracted to a magnet.

To CCF! It's most likely been plated. PMD.
