Is it rare to have a 1945 P Mercury dime that is AU to have full bands on the lower torch? How much would it be worth? I found one for $10 but have not bought it yet. Let me know and thanks, Frank B.

Interesting. What about the appearance of the bands at other portions of the torch?

Hi, I do not know much about the full band thing but I see on ebay it should be BU to be worth anything. I may pass on the coin because it is not BU.

It doesn't help unless the bands are full on both ends. I'd pass on it anyway, but it's up to you.

My understanding is all three horizontal bands need to be full.

Well - for what it's worth-

""Full bands" on a Mercury dime refers to the complete separation and clear definition of the horizontal bands on the fasces depicted on the coin's reverse, indicating a well-struck coin where all the bands are visible without any breaks or blurring, making it more valuable to collectors. "
