I did find an auction record link above. It sold for $660 (looks like same exact coin) in 2023.
But the ebay description is mentioning many different metals other than the known Brass Planchet 1942.

I tried to post a link about an experimental mixed alloy 1942 cent but got threatened with being banned/blocked from this site.

So maybe they were using lots of different combos maybe? very cool tho!

Yeah after finding the auction from 2023, I figured it was another ebay hoax. Why do they bother?
The pictures of the coin are exactly the same.

I wouldn't think the government would create a cent that had a melt value well above the coin value. Even at 1942 prices, the gold content alone would be around 35 cents. Another point is that an alloy with that composition of metals would not be considered brass

I sure hope you had your pinky nail against your tooth when you typed "1 Meeelion Dollars", TACC (aka. Austin Powers. )

I've seen other posts (can't recall exactly where at the moment) about inaccurate XRF readings through the plastic of slabbed coins.

The coin would have to cracked out to do the test on the coins surface itself.

"...Certified by ANACS in the 1990's as XF45 Brass Planchet. But almost all other "brass" WWII cents are 85% to 90% copper and 10% to 15% zinc and tin.

Certified by Collectors Universe (PCGS's parent company) on June 27, 2023 as 15.87% platinum, 12.89% gold, 46.77% copper, 9.8% zinc, 9.77% tin, 2.23% palladium, 2.59% silver (mean analysis).

Includes the hardcopy of the 6/27/23 XRF analysis report from Collectors Universe (click the fourth and fifth image). The normal composition is 95% copper, 5% zinc and tin.

Photos on CU report are of this coin... "

"Throw me a bone here people"
I admit, the $1,000,000 price tag and gold, platinum etc. is what got my attention in the first place,
and I was indeed aware of the experimental cents from 1942 (list of all the different compositions attempted):
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1942_...mental_cents
but I was duped for a good 1/2 hour or so while I investigated further.
It is just sad in a funny sort of way that coin collectors, no matter what level they may be,
are exposed to false coin listings on ebay, Etsy, mercarri etc on a daily basis.
This listing is of course a ridiculous example and I would have to assume no one could possibly buy this joke of a coin. But the fake BS is so prominent out there, that it totally
undermines the coin hobby as a whole. Of course always be weary and always remember if it's too good or too ridiculous to be true, then it's probably NOT real!

no! I couldn't put a cool million dollars together so I'm bidding on a 1964-D with
"L" on edge. It's only $1000.
