I am guessing Feeder Finger Damage? Looks like it hung up on the obverse rim. Still sealed inside mint set with undamaged cello. The more I look the more Interesting it is. I thought the devices on the reverse were the same depth in the die face but according to the damage there must be some differences. The scrape on the obverse rim is pretty cool to. I just see damage on this one, all moving in the same direction. The piece you see over the B is just misplace metal. I like what you have been putting up though, good stuff!

Thanks @-makecents- and Errers and Varietys! Yep def damaged I just have not seen that much damage sealed inside a mint set. The cello is not damaged so it was damaged prior to being put into the set so I figured was prob Feeder Finger Damage.

Thanks! @-makecents- Yes! dunno what I was thinking! Something got ahold of it on its way to being sealed! Took a bit of force to do that other than being dropped etc. Yes I have a few Morgans with Feeder Finger Damage....Dunno what I was thinking had brain lapse lol

As stated above, damage happened after leaving the striking chamber and before going into the packaging department. I've never seen damage so severe on a sealed mint set coin.

Quote: So which part of the process would cause this damage rekon? Nothing in the "normal" process. It happened sometime between after being struck and being packaged, who knows how it happened. Someone on a Friday, not caring and wanting to go home or maybe someone on a Monday, after a tough weekend.

I just did a search on this site alone that had damage in cello and came up with a few, they are out there. You just need to sift through them, some are not in mint cello.
