Hello everyone,
I am pretty much coin stupid. I don't know what is wrong with this I just know it doesn't look or feel right. It has no ridges around the edge. It feels like it was struck too hard like it has a raised rim? It weighs 5.6 grams. I hope the pictures will be enough to get help with this. I found this in my change jar. I was never interested in coins till my dad and I started going through his coins. He has Alzheimer's now so I can't really ask him. I would appreciate any help with this. I am sorry to bother but I am just looking to gain more knowledge.

Thank you, I read your post on Dryer Coins just now. I appreciate your input. I don't know much about coins just know what my dad taught me. I really am grateful for the people on here who don't make me feel dumb.
Thank you again,

Lori

Yes, nice Dryer Coin. Spooning possible, but I'm thinking dryer induced.

there is hardly any damage to this one, and the edge is very smooth - I'll go with a spooned quarter (the start of a ring).

Could be an early stage Dryer Coin, or a spooned coin. Either way, it's PMD.

Could be a Dryer Coin, could be spooned, it also may have spent extensive time being used over and over in an arcade or laundromat.

May have seen extensive use in slot machines, but most likely a Dryer Coin.

Coins left in clothing often fall out during wash cycle, and I have to use a very small screwdriver or pick to get them out of the bottom of my washing machine... they often come out looking just like this.
