I was at a coin show recently and bought a 1943 BU roll in a typical plastic tube. Opened it up and this popped out, which surprised me quite a bit as it was quite obviously an error coin. The diameter more or less east-west is 19.65 so it just barely fit in the tube without getting stuck. So now I am debating what to call it, a broadstruck coin or an off center. If the L of LIBERTY is fully on the coin, it is broadstruck. It some portion of the L is off the coin it is off center. I just don't know, but I suppose the default is broadstruck if you aren't sure. 1943 Lincoln Wheat cent mint error - broadstruck (or off center)

Awesome find! My vote is Broadstruck.

My first reaction was off-center because it's obviously not aligned properly, but the weakness around the rim, especially at TRUST, makes me think the collar was not doing its job. So, why not both?

For me, the higher diameter signifies it being broadstruck. I'm interested to see where we net out on this one though.

I say Broadstruck here - seeing how 'In God' on the obverse and the E.P. of EPU on the reverse is at the rim in its normal location but the right side is far away from the edge. Maybe an improperly deployed collar?

Thanks for all the comments! It's a tough call, and I still think it all comes down to whether the L of LIBERTY is fully on the coin or not. I just don't know even looking at it closely.

Since "IN" is still fully visible I would say broadstruck. I think this has something to do with the " L on rim" design flaw rather than an off center issue. Strange someone put that back in tube though, that must have been an unexpectedly fun find.
