As I prep these 1972 Eisenhower doubled dies for ebay, I decided to capture the data for CCF as well. There are only two DDO-003 examples documented on CONECA and Variety Vista. Examining multiple examples already yielded one potential marker—all of them seem to exhibit striations in the crook of the Y. I checked a few 1972 Type 1 Ikes, and they weren't present, so it's definitely part of this specific die (although it could also be some form of series hub doubling).

Well, the sculptor did the best he could on the busts. Not everyone is a heartthrob like JFK. I would say that the Eisenhower dollar obverse is really low relief. Compared to a Peace dollar or Kennedy half, Ike's bust is super flat, and that makes it look less lifelike. The SBA bust seems to have more 3D appeal, but that's mostly because it's so much smaller.

I do see the serifs, but man that is magnified quite a bit. Not sure if that qualifies as a DDO. It probably does,
but in my opinion, not so much.

You're gonna have to argue that with CONECA. I assume they have some criteria around the question of, "How minor is too minor?"
