1959 Proof Nickel, Struck Through Thread.

Brandmeister Pillar of the Community United States 6505 Posts	Posted 10/28/2024 4:56 pm Whenever I see a good struck-through-thread error, I am always reminded of the tales of tornados driving drinking straws through tree trunks. How hard do you have to hit a thread to drive it into the face of a nickel? HARD. =) The loop of thread is struck through the obverse top. The thread squiggles over Jefferson's hair, and seems to exit. Both thread ends appear to cross the rim. Report this Post to the Staff
