So I took a shot on this one because I did brief research before buying. Bought this "supposed" estate roll this morning for 15 dollars on ebay. We all know how ebay can be. The only reason I bought it is because I saw the ender. It looks almost cleaned and Shiny but...I noticed the bust sat higher above the 1. So it could be an 1864 L. What are all of your general thoughts and impressions? Also supposed value based on what you can see? I haven't received it yet. Thanks.

I don't either because it is so rubbed off. The other indicator is the raised bust from my research.

Also the bust seems pointed vs the rounded normal type.

Looks like an L to me, what with that pointed bust. It's ED though .... a filler.

Great, that's what I thought. Even with environmental damage, probably no more than 15 to 20 bucks I assume. That's just a questimate

Well when I get this roll in next week, I will try and remember to take some close ups of it and see what other goodies are inside.

I have a couple of 1864 L coins in my collection and your coin matches up well with my coins. Even in good condition a 1864 L is $65 per 2025 Red Book. I am not sure if the pitting lowers the grade below good. Nice pickup.

Thanks, yeah I was excited when I saw it available to bid for. No one was bidding on it with 2 days left so I made an offer instead and the the guy took it. You also never know what other goodies lay inside either.
