I bought these coins on ebay at below silver content melt. The coins were sold as bullion coins for silver value and called "proof", but that might not mean much. The mass of each 1976-S coin is correct to be 40% silver, and the edge sandwich is also correct.

Proof nickel for comparison. The Ike does reasonably reflect things in the fields. One Kennedy half looks glossier, and the other with spots seems less reflective. But they could also all just be scuffed up, circulated, or improperly stored proofs. All of them were dirty and hazy until I soaked them in acetone and wiped with Q-tips (they're bullion, after all).

Any thoughts on what I actually got here?

I happen to have a '76 proof set and the Quarter, 1/2 dollar & Ike dollar are far better looking strikes
than what I see in your pictures. The edges would be my next indication area. The edges on your Ike
look too rounded to be a proof. Just my observation.

I agree. The rims do not look squared enough to be proof, at last not in the images as they appear on my screen.

I had forgotten about the rims. However, when I put PCGS CoinFacts images for proof on the left and business on the right, I can't say that I see a huge difference.

It probably does not really help you, but my PCGS proof and business strike Ikes are night and day.

I can understand that. At least one of the coins is pretty scratched across the whole surface. If you scrubbed a silver proof with a Scotch Brite pad and cleanser, would it look like a silver business strike? Hard to say.

They do pass the tissue test. I also added a War Nickel out of curiosity, and it also comes through the tissue reasonably well. The CN proof nickel is on the left, and is visibly dull.

I might argue they could look worse!
