*** Edited by Staff to clarify topic title. Please put as much info in the title as you can, they are very important. ***

Attached are a few photos of this 1950 S penny possibly showing signs of matching the example in copper coins of 1950S-1MM-019 (S/S rotated CCW). If it is so and community agrees, then I possibly would send to TPG as I like the quailty of the coin and will most likely breakeven (or lose just little).

Can not thank the community enough for looking at coins and the advice.

Good eye, and fine work on the attribution. =)

I am hazy on how TPG slabbing would be a break-even proposition on this coin. ANACS is the only grading company that attributes minor varieties from all sources, and even their reasonable fees would exceed the value of this coin (which is a stab in the dark by Copper Coins anyway).

As always, the community family Rocks. I will definietly take the suggestion of ANACS into account, as Ive been using NGC for submissions. I made the rookie mistake a year ago on submissions, but hoping with the next round of coins for quality purposes only will be better overall.

I too wonder about the zeal many folks have for TPG certification. I can understand doing so for the "big" varieties, but for minor RPMs like this (not even major enough to be listed by CONECA, correct?) this coin is essentially just a 1950-S Cent. Now, if it is in MS67 or higher, I suppose it might be worth certifying, but the RPM is secondary to the grade in that case. This is a variety that can only be appreciated by an RPM specialist, and it is only worth a few dollars.
