Someone forgot to change the scale. Is this almost the weight of a copper?

Looks like it has been re-plated.
What is the normal weight for a 1943?
What is the mint tolerance for a 1943?

Yes, the photos seem to hint at replating. Please post full large and sharp pics of just the coin. Include and end-on close-in pic of the rim. Thanks.

2.7 grams is normal. Plating made have added to it.

2.95 grams is closer to 2.7 grams of steel than it is to 3.11 grams of copper.

Pictures are too small. Focus on the coin itself for your photos, not the surrounding areas.

It looks like it also has a double D mint mark. It's a nice coin; this could easily pass MS64-5. I have had this coin for years.

The shiny edge is proof that you have a plated, or reprocessed, steel cent.

Unfortunately, the new photos indicate a replated cent. In my many, many years of plowing through wheat cents, I've come across a good number of replated examples.

Better enlarged photos, thanks! I agree your coin has been replated somewhere down the line.

Being reprocessed makes it a details coin.

Unfortunately reprocessed steel cents are considered damaged and will not grade.
