So just curious... I have seen several albums that contain spots for "S" mint marks, but what the heck? I think they have both a spot for S and proofs.
I'm not aware really of any S mint mark coins made for circulation anymore.
Are there any actual S mint mark non-proof women's quarters? Perhaps this is a kind of error from the companies that made these albums. Unless the "S" is for regular proofs, and then the "proof" slot is for silver proofs.
Any ideas?

There are S mint business strike coins available for each of the Women's quarters. They are not circulating issues, they're sold by the mint.

Interesting. So they opted not to make regular proofs, instead rather just releasing business strike S coins? Kind of a bizarre choice since they still opted to do silver proofs it seems.

Dansco really messed up by changing how they label the holes. The S-clad proof and S-silver proof quarters are still minted and issued in their corresponding sets. The S-uncirculated are sold by the Mint in bags/rolls, going back to the third year of the ATB Quarters. Bag/rolls are not really convenient for me, so I try to seek them out individually at coin shows. I have not looked for the Women's issues yet, since my Dansco has four holes per type per year—I fill them with P, D, S-clad proof and S-silver proof.

As jbuck mentioned, there are 25 "different" quarters each year since 2012. There are FIVE "mintage types" for FIVE different "reverse types" yearly. Each reverse style has: "P" business strike circulated "D" business strike circulated "S" business strike uncirculated "S" clad proof "S" silver proof Although, technically, the "S" business strikes are not circulated, I have found a couple in the wild over the years. Last year I went out and bought the 'PDS' trio from the US Mint; which I now regret. I didn't mind paying the $20/roll for the "S" coins, but I'm pretty sure I'll never get back the $10 extra I paid for the "P" and "D" coins. This year I am buying them all from ebay (one each).

Only year there weren't 25 designs (5 X 5) was 2021.

Atticguy, if you want to be picky...
"P" business strike circulated "D" business strike circulated
really should be just business strike, as they can be found both in the uncirculated sets, AND in circulation.

I prefer using the term "business strike" alone as well. It is a direct comparison to proof strike, no matter the intended purpose.
