Needing you guys to confirm what I'm hoping I found, it would be something my pops never did, and me not being into it, would sure make Him a proud Pops I'm Heaven. I know theres doubling in LIBERTY, And the seven looks funny. So let me hear what you guys think of a word spelled wrong and looks authentic in my eyes but I haven't been doing this long. Hint it's on the back.

Thanks for all the feedback on this matter

To CCF! Just a normal heavily circulated dime with damage. PMD. Just a spender. No premium.

My question is if it's PMD, how does the S replace the B? That makes no sense to me?

Just damage on the B. Coin dies are made with a hub with all the devices and lettering already on it, there is no way for one letter to replace another.

I agree, a circulation hit can change the appearance of devices, then the extreme circulation wear erases the evidence of the hit over time.
This coin is just a well circulated and worn coin.

So you think a more plausible explanation is that the US Mint misspelled it on 1 die, and that die only struck 1 coin?

Its been in circulation for 57 years & the reverse has taken the majority of damage. Along w/ other areas of the dime, the B has hits & nicks. We see this sort of thing fairly often.

Your picture just isn't clear enough to tell exactly what's going on there. The LIBERTY kinda looks like it is stretching towards the rim pointing to DDD but can't tell for sure.
