Good Morning! Today I am sharing this 1983-P Lincoln Penny I found with a cute die chip.

The placement of the die chip on this one kind of makes it look like part of his bowtie is floating. I found it interesting so I'm sharing.

Odd location for a die chip, maybe plating debris.

@coin, might also instead be a plating bubble. In that case, you might be able to dent it by depressing it with the end of a wooden toothpick. If it is trapped zinc dust or whatever debris then it won't depress. I agree most likely not a die chip though as it is just floating out there in the middle of the field.

Considering the indentations around the perimeter of the bulge I also think it might be a plating debris.

Looks like a plating issue, rather than a Die Chip.
