Cool note Frank. I'm not sure I'd tie up $100 to keep it, but that's what makes collecting so interesting. You keep what you like. Thanks for sharing bud.

Quote: On August 31, 1969 (the day before his 46th birthday), Marciano was a passenger in a small private plane, a Cessna 172[34] heading to Des Moines, Iowa from Chicago Midway. It was night and bad weather had set in. The pilot, Glenn Belz, had only 231 total hours of flying time, 35 of them at night, and had no instrument rating. Belz tried to land the plane at a small airfield outside Newton, Iowa but the aircraft hit a tree two miles short of the runway. Flying with Marciano in the back seat was Frankie Farrell, 28, the oldest son of organized crime figure Lew Farrell.[35] Marciano, Belz, and Farrell were killed on impact.[35][36][nb 2]

Kinda creepy. With the right description on ebay it might sell for a big premium to a boxing fan!

One of my work offices in located in Brockton, Massachusetts, where Rocky Marciano was born, raised, and trained. Here's his 20-foot statue they unveiled in 2012 in front of Brockton High School. I pass by it a couple of times every week. Some fans in Brockton would be happy to have that bill.
