You have the coin in hand, so see if you can match it up. 9T, 12T, 14T, 21T and 26T. All of these are similar in location and degree of angle. These were originally thought to be doubled dies, there were many of them listed for years on the various sites, most notably the "wavy steps", until a study was done in 2017 by a friend of mine and proved what other thought, that they were not doubled dies at all. Trails are cause by a circular polishing tool used on working dies, working hubs and even master dies. Some still consider them varieties, some errors and some do not think they are either. The coin and die have a second interaction where the die cavity comes down again, shears metal from freshly struck device, and crushes it flat adjacent to the device. The appearance is flat and shelf-like, and can be quite crisp. Aside from the crispness, one way to differentiate DDD vs. MD is that DDD actually widens the device because the die cavity is widening as it wears.
