I have got back some Morgan dollars with toning can someone help and explain to me why these 2 got back as questionable toning?
The coins were graded by cac.

1st one looks 100% artificially toned, 2nd one is questionable. Photos of the reverses would be very helpful.

Interesting that both coins have very little toning on reverse as I was expecting the reverses to also be toned. The 82 P had something on the obverse blocking the toning on the E,U, and #12 star. The 81 O does not look unnatural. You might want to ask CAC grading why the coins were graded questionable toning. Let them know you are a new collector and would appreciated any help they can provide. If you asked PCGS they would not provide any information to new collectors about their grades, but CAC has been very friendly to new collectors.

I agree with Slider, 82 has PCI written all over it and I would say a definite AT. I actually like the 81O and wonder if it got lumped into AT being submitted with the 82?

i have to agree with cooked. the difference between both sides is that the coin would only have one side up and almost always its the obv
