I am new here. Are there YouTube videos that are educational in evaluating coins? One video I watched said if the A and M on a Lincoln Penny touch it increases it's value. Is it true?

to the Community! What you read regards the WAM and CAM varieties.

In short, not really. They are more about getting subscribers and followers than teaching people. It's income for them. For the most, they present a coin worth thousands of dollars and then show why. The less scrupulous people will show damaged coins or worn dies (such as L on rim) as errors. It has crossed my mind more than once since I joined here that someone knowledgeable could do videos that people can actually learn from. At the same time, there is knowledge that comes from the actually looking at a LOT of coins like what to look for on different years, etc.

to the CCF Youtube is not the place to learn anything about errors and varieties. The CCF is a great place to learn what to look for and how rare it is. Stick around, use the search engine, post your coins and have the members respond. You'll learn a lot more here.

Be careful of most tube information. Not always telling the whole story about stuff, just bits of truth. You will find that here is the best place to be educated about Numismatics.

Coin books and forums are the most beneficial for information. Anybody can make a coin video for free, and do.

I have been pondering if it is worth my time to do some proper youtube videos. I'm not a video editor nor super tech for getting those screen shares from the scope (I have a trinocular scope that will do that). But it just seems like it would be useful to take apart each year in the wheat series and talk about what can be found on it. I pretty much have the collection to do it all with just what I already have. If you then tack in the interesting memorial years it'd be a multi-year project to cover all the dates. Seems quite time-consuming, and would it really compete with the guys doing the clickbait stuff, which as everyone knows does work.

Bats; You are the best example of why people like you make this forum a great place to learn. I have learned so much from your collection and your ability to describe what makes your collection so impressive. I believe in what you say and you back it up with facts and experience. You are in a much higher league than a you-tuber.

TB, You should do a YouTube video series. There aren't enough objective educational coin error/variety videos available on the internet. I'd be subscriber #1. NYI
