This Jefferson nickel was born in 2004 with a genetic disorder. I would not blame toning for this anomaly. It needs an expert evaluation.

It sure looks like toning to me. Coins can take on many different colors when exposed to environmental conditions.

@dou, from the nature of your comments and question, it sounds like you are wondering if there might be a mint error on this nickel and yet you have posted it in the grading subforum. Would you like me to move it over there or do you actually want folks to weigh in with estimates of the grade? Thx for providing some clarity.
