This may be the wrong place to post this subject, but here goes. A couple of weeks ago, I got a call from my cariologist advising me that I have only 24 percent heart function due to congestive heart failure. Shock!!!! Since my kids don't want to carry on with my cent collection, I have started preparing them for sale. Most of them were posted here on CCF with attributions. Most are varieties or errors in BU condition. Many, many DDO and DDR Proofs. My question is: Do you think I could sell what you see in the photos as a lot? I sure hate to list them on ebay either as a lot or individually. Thanks for your time..

Jim - I'm so sorry to hear the news. I wish you the absolute best outcome possible ;

I would imagine you would do best selling as a Bulk Lot on Great Collections. While most of their listings are slabbed, they do have a fairly extensive raw collections & lots category that gets a lot of bids/interest.

Take a peek here - https://www.greatcollections.com/De...ections-Lots

More than happy to help you navigate it as well. You have my email - feel free to reach out.

Wishing you the best of health

I have no real idea of worth at this point...going to start researching various sites. We don't have coin shops around here which would be a good start. Might have to find a coin show somewhere not too far away. Thanks

Truly sorry to hear about your condition, and hope the marvels of modern medicine can fix things up. Our family's experience with such things has been rather positive. My father had about what you describe, and after surgery 12 years ago he is still fully active at 88 years old. It's a struggle, no doubt, but I wish you the very best always.

I'm not sure Great Collections would be a good choice for this collection. They only sell slabbed coins, so most of this would all have to go to ANACS, which would take 5 months to get back and then two months to sell and get paid. A fair bit of it is unlikely to realize much more than the slabbing costs, which for 100 coins could run in the $1600 range.

Pretty sure I can't suggest individuals or companies that would be interested in the collection here, but you can send me a PM and I can probably give you three choices of people who may be interested in buying the whole collection.

TB, they have an entire section dedicated to lots/un-slabbed/uncertified. But in JFeeds case, attribution becomes the problem.

I hadn't noticed this thread until now. Sorry to hear about your heart condition. I will echo the hopeful thoughts of others on this thread. Modern medicine has produced many miracles, and my prayers are that you enjoy a strong recovery with the help of your doctors.

Is your objective with the collection to unlock its full monetary value, or to see it safely into the hands of a knowledgeable collector (or collectors)? It seems that the end goal must inform the liquidation strategy. If it were my collection, I would separate out the few coins with strong value, document them thoroughly, and liquidate them raw. The remainder, I would guide into the hands of appreciative collectors, perhaps for a modest payment, but without being overly concerned for extracting profit.

DOCC, ya got me there! I'll have to look that up as everything I've ever done on GC was with slabbed coins as far as selling and buying and looking at auction prices. Must be another section on there.
