On sale for $475. Graded by ANACS at VF-20. Photos from the seller.   It surprises me the hit across the eagle's wing does not detail the coin? Or would that only be a problem at AU/MS grades? |

The hit on the reverse IMO isn't long or deep enough to detail it. And it looks toned over. And given the grade and amount of circulation, I would be surprised if other TPGs would detail it.

It's a semi-key date. The price is quite reasonable; there's a similar-looking VF20 PCGS that is listed for $499, another at $603.25, and a third in a NGC holder for $545.00
Not a bad looking Morgan.

Greysheet retail is currently $490, but I see four recent sales of PCGS VF25 (3) and VF30 (1) all between $431 and $469, so I'm thinking price is on the higher side for an ANACS graded example.
I do think it is a nice looking example for the level of circulation!

@NumisEd it looks more like an F15 to me. Older ANACS-graded coins are often overgraded and the wear on the Wings, Cotton Leaves/Blossoms, and the Cheek chatter look more consistent with Fair condition to me. Price-wise I would feel a lot better about it closer to $400.

Looks like a nice coin. That hit on the wing shouldn't be a problem at that grade.
