Here's another common date gold type coin. What would you call this one?

Fields are reasonable, but cheek is torn up. I can't see it grading a 63, and the fields are too clean to kick it down to a 61. I see a choice and frosty MS-62.

Wow....or should I say Ugh...no matter gold is gold and gold is good
I'd go with 60 but the reverse I think saves it in my eyes...so 61

Looks 63 to me. The color, luster & strike are all strong. The contact marks are too severe to go higher.

Some of you got this--most were a bit more generous than PCGS, but no one guessed the PL designation. I wouldn't have either, but it looks pretty cool in hand for a low MS double eagle! And who doesn't like nice, conservatively graded coins?
