I bought this one recently as this coin is really tough to find in top grade. This one is POP 2/1 so likely as high as I'll ever get, and it went for $1200 under PCGS guide value. Granted, this die has slipped in value a lot over the last 5 or 8 years, but that's still a long way under the guide value. In general I attribute this to the honest fact that it's just not very showy at all and people like stuff that jumps at them a bit. 1946 S/D Lincoln Wheat cent - OMM-001, FS-511

Thanks! And yes, expensive, but in 2023 coins in general went up 11% if I remember correctly. So the idea is that money spent now won't be less money later when I eventually sell this stuff.

Very, very nice! It always amazes me that these are out there in this condition. That's as close as you can get to a top pop without it being though.

Fantastic example. I like it a lot. Congrats.
(It's more interesting than the 1946 "inverted S" variety, which I did find multiples of in a roll, once.)

Thanks for all the kind words! Tis a very nice example, but I will admit that I suspect if I just sent this in myself it would have come back RB as it's fairly well-toned. Guessing whoever sent it in was pretty happy when it came back RD.
